Oedemeridae in Korea are represented by 25 species, all of which belong to the subfamily Oedemerinae Latreille, 1810. The other two subfamilies, Calopodinae Costa, 1852 and Polypriinae Lawrence, 2005, have not yet been documented in the region. We here report the first record of the subfamily Calopodinae in Korea with the discovery of Sparedrus koreanus sp. nov. This study provides external and genital photographs, a detailed description of the new species and a key to the Sparedrus species of East Asia.
